This job is both enjoyable and challenging.
Our kennel staff is responsible for caring for someone's baby while in our care and we take that responsibility very seriously.
The position is to provide for the daily care of boarding pets and pets who come in for baths.
Daily care includes feeding, watering, cleaning, washing soiled laundry, walking, bathing, medicating, specimen collection, and monitoring the well-being of dogs, cats and, occasionally, other companion animals.
Computer skills are a must.
Daily reports are completed on all boarders.
This position requires a love of animals and the ability to warmly welcome and compassionately care for a wide variety of pets as well as the ability to work well with others.
It should always be remembered, while our patients are pets, our clients are people and your people skills are just as important as your love of pets.
Our kennel staff administer medications under doctor supervision and bathe pets, including those that are fearful and/or aggressive.
Our staff monitor pets for signs of distress or disease and provides for the comfort of pets and sanitation of the facility by keeping the kennel area and grounds clean and odor-free.
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases.
Must be able to lift 50lbs and perform bathing and cleaning duties.
This position is FULL TIME and hours will fall somewhere in the time frame of 7-5:
30 M-F, 7-11/ 4:
30-6:
30 S, and 6:
00-8:
00/12:
00-1:
00/6:
00-8:
00 Sundays.
We try to be as flexible as possible with scheduling and ensure some weekends off.
