MRO Buyer

Trinity Marine Products, Inc. is searching for a MRO Buyer for our Madisonville, LA barge manufacturing plant! We welcome your ideas and your outstanding work ethic.
Trinity Marine Products, Inc. (TMP) is a leading U.S. manufacturer of barges that transport dry and liquid cargoes on inland waterways.
TMP manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum and other refined products, chemicals, fertilizer, ethanol, and other liquid cargoes.
TMP also manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges that transport a variety of products, such as grain, coal, and aggregates.
The MRO Buyer is involved in the planning and implementation of sourcing, procurement, and logistics activities; also includes coordination and collaboration with channel partners, which can be suppliers, intermediaries, third-party service providers, and customers.
What you'll do:
Procurement -Involves sourcing materials, obtaining bids and making purchasing decisions. Conducts vendor and product evaluations. Discusses adjustments, agreements or contracts which may affect several phases or operations. Evaluates the pricing of materials, services and proposals.
Material Planning and Control - Provides services in materials planning and/or inventory management. Focus areas include inventory quantity and location of inventory; analysis and integration of processes through the supply chain to share valuable information, including demand signals, forecasts, inventory, transportation, and potential collaboration, etc. Ensures all parts and materials are accurately detailed to reflect actual procurement and production needs. Monitors systems information and audits other information sources to verify proper quality and quantities of materials are scheduled for each file at the assigned manufacturing facility
Duties may involve but are not limited to: analyzing standard reports to determine material requirements, generating reports from production information system including shortage lists, order status reports, exception reports and labor reports; entering schedules, inventory transactions, order releases, order close-outs etc.
Builds knowledge of the organization, processes and customers
Solves a range of straightforward problems; analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures
Uses judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
May lead small projects and/or projects with minimal complexity
What you'll need:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Intermediate level MS Excel experience.
Ability to multi-task with accurate attention to detail.
Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
Safely and efficiently performs all essential functions.
Ability to function as a team member.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and customers.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
